Object: Hourglass Nebula in the Lagoon Nebula in Sagittarius
Date/Time: 3/12/00 @ 05:31 CST
Location: the dark sky of Argyle, Texas during the Messier Marathon
Comments: the biploar Hourglass nebula, next to the star Herschel 36. This is the brightest part of
the Lagoon nebula. Both of these are amoung the youngest stars known with an estimated age of
tens of thousands of years. Image was only dark-subtracted and cropped!
Exposure: 15 sec single exposure, broadband filter

Light-years: 5,150 Magnitude: ~ 5.8
Date/Time: 7/11/98 @ 06:05 UT
Comments: a diffused nebula with dust + cluster, unsharp masking reveals the brightest part of the Lagoon, the biploar Hourglass nebula, next to star Herschel 36.
Exposure: 60 secs (6 x 10secs), narrowband filter
